Introduction
The Lunch Special [at times known as the Breakfast Special] is a Stanford
community music-and-talk format show.
Each week a different guest from Stanford or the greater community picks music to play between chats with the host. The show is based on the format of Dinnertime Sampler hosted by Eric Chemi on WMBR. The similarity to BBC's Desert Island Discs has been pointed out, though our show has a more flexible format.
Time
Beginning with the Fall 2006 quarter, Byrd hosts the Lunch Special on Mondays
from noon-1pm.
Beginning with the Winter 2006 quarter, the program became the Breakfast
Special and was on Wednesdays from 9-10am.
At its inception in the Fall 2005 quarter, the Lunch Special was on Tuesdays
from noon-1pm.
