The Lunch Special, formerly the Breakfast Special, is a Stanford community music-and-talk format show on KZSU.
Each week a different guest from Stanford or the greater community picks music to play between chats with the host. The show is based on the format of Dinnertime Sampler hosted by Eric Chemi on WMBR. The similarity to BBC's Desert Island Discs has been pointed out, though our show has a more flexible format.
Usually the show starts with a song and then the host makes introductions. Then the host usually alternates between songs and short conversation for the rest of the show. If you might like to play songs more than you might like to talk, please just let the host know before the show starts.
After the show, the host will burn an mp3 file of your show to a CD which will be mailed through the campus mail system to a mail stop number which may be furnished to the host at some point before leaving the studio. For off-campus addresses, please just let the host know where to send the CD before leaving.
We ask our guests if they would like to have their show uploaded to radio4all.net, however, the option may be refuted without any problems.
