November 27, 2000: Virgil Thomson Anniversary

The birthday of pianist Earl Wild (26 November 1915) is observed in the first hour.

In commemoration of the birth of Virgil Thomson (25 November 1896), the final hour of this program presents a late version of his opera Four saints in three acts, a collaboration between Gertrude Stein and the composer.
