October 25, 1999: St. Crispin's Day

October 25 is the anniversary of the English victory at Agincourt, France in the year 1415. As recounted by William Shakespeare's Henry V, it is also the day designated to venerate St. Crispin. Thus the final hour represents a cinematic visit to the 15th century, with music composed for the 1944 and 1989 films by William Walton and Patrick Doyle, respectively. By way of contrast, we include a brief selection inspired by the silent film The Passion of Joan of Arc (1928).
