September 13, 1999: Last Night of the Proms

The final hour of this program pulls in a few of the ingredients of the fabled Last Night of the Proms, the season finale of the BBC's annual summer concert series. A brisk overture, a distinguished solo performer, Rule, Brittania, and Jerusalem are heard directly, and Joanna Lumley's recorded promo for the 1996 Proms also excerpts Land of Hope and Glory.
