March 16, 1999: Gaelic Connections / Yehudi Menuhin

Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, is commemorated on March 17, and much of this program contains music from Irish sources, textual or melodic.

Yehudi Menuhin, a preeminent musician of the 20th century and noted humanitarian, died in the past week on March 12, 1999. A self described son of California with childhood connections to San Francisco and Los Gatos, we commemorate him with an early recording from the World War II era.
