Two musical series are initiated in this program:

• An installment from improvisations on texts from the Gospel according to St. Matthew, by Pierre Cochereau, organist of the cathedral of Nôtre Dame in Paris.
• The collaboration between composer Elinor Armer and writer Ursula K. LeGuin, Uses of Music in Uttermost Places, a fantastic journey through places where music and sound have unusual properties.

The final hour of this program features a visit from Stanford University Music Department's Director of Choral Studies, Dr. Stephen M. Sano. Recordings from recent concerts and CD releases are featured.
