November 9, 1998: Paul Robeson Centenary

In the 100th anniversary year of Paul Robeson's birth, the final segment from this program prominently features songs performed by Paul Robeson a towering, prodigiously talented figure of the 20th century. Not only was Robeson an exceptionally popular singer and actor, he also had great academic, athletic, and humanitarian recognition.

In the second hour, the 25th anniversary of the Tallis Scholars' first performance is observed with a selection from a commemorative release, Live in Oxford.
