Giancarlo Aquilanti

The final hour of this program contains an interview with Giancarlo Aquilanti from the Stanford University Music Department, in connection with the July 26 premier of his Concerto for cello and orchestra, in which S. Aquilanti also conducts the Stanford Summer Orchestra.

The BBC Promenade Concert season begins. The representative work chosen from the Proms season is John Adams's "Short ride in a fast machine", scheduled for Last Night of the 1997 Proms (Prom 73, September 19).
