Mixed Up Class Playlist, October 26, 1998

Several birthdays are noted in this program:

On the Lutheran church calendar, Reformation Sunday is marked by J. S. Bach's Ein feste Burg cantata, which uses Martin Luther's hymn as its departure point. Also, two examples of the great Lutheran choral tradition in America (as developed by F. Melius Christiansen) are included.

Also, the anniversary of the Battle of Agincourt, on St. Crispian's Day on October 25, 1415, is marked by music from two movies of the Shakespeare historical play, Henry V.
