Memorial Day, 1997

American composers are better represented than usual today because of the national holiday, Memorial Day, originally established during the Civil War (or the War Between the States, for those of you digging in the Library of Congress).

The liturgical music of the day comes from Trinity Sunday, with various triples (e.g., "Holy, holy, holy") figuring in the texts.
