November 21, 1994 is the 299th anniversary of the death of Henry Purcell, widely considered the greatest English composer of the 17th century. November 22 is the feast day of St. Cecilia, the patron saint of musicians. Additionally, November 22, 1913 was the birthday of Benjamin Britten, perhaps the greatest English composer of the 20th century. With a wee bit of air time, we commemorate these anniversaries.
