December 12, 2006 (show 44): Highlights are a decade-old album from PBK, John Cage's An Alphabet, and a slice of life from Baltimore, 1960- The Bakery Story, courtesy of Folkways. Sandwiched by random tunes.

December 5, 2006 (show 43):Presinting Habib by Tapewarm, collaborating with whiz Henry Warwick. The hour long meditation on Joy Division Sweden's Nau Ensemble. Harsh tones from Brainsodomy. Some tunes from Geniuser's Mud Black.

November 28, 2006 (show 42):Howard Amb's highly original covers (to be released on the PolyPhasic CD). The bulk of the morning was dedicated to the modular synth experiments of Paul Sop. Finished with a little holiday spirit from The Aborted.

November 14, 2006 (show 41):Alan Sondheim's guitar and zither music, selections not found on Fire Museum's "ski/nn" but of those same sessions... Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 32 (Op 111) played by Garrick Ohlsson. Plenty from This Heat's "Out of Cold Storage". Nurse With Wound's "Brained" & "Swamp Rat," Soft Machine's "Facelift," a couple tracks from Johann Johannson's "IBM 1401," the classic yodel "Pigmy Divorce." And more, not exactly in that order, or this order... A mixed bag, blending seamlessly from a "regular" show of the prior 5+ hours.

November 7, 2006 (show 40):An election special- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "Declaration Against the War on Vietnam," Christopher DeLaurenti's "Live in NY at the RNC Protest, 2004," Al Sharpton's 2004 DNC Address, Ringo Starr talkes a bit about his recent work and life, and my father reminisces about his childhood (as a relief from politics), then a repeat of the RNC protest recordings, finishing with George Clooney speaking of Darfour to the UN.

October 10, 2006 (show 39):Tapewarm and Warwick compose a musical narrative for the terrist astronaut Habib. Also Soft Machine's "Moon in June demo", an hourlong track track from Pan sonic, and some cool sounds from the first Brainsodomy compilation.

November 9, 2005 (show 38):Steffen Basho-Junghans and Dead Can Dance provide experimental and otherworldly guitar music, following my fill-in for Colin's guitar show.

Alan Lamb's Wire Music- recordings of cables singing in the Australian wind. Christopher DiLaurenti's "3 Camels for Orchestra" bring us into Mixed Up Class:
Some organ & footstomping tunes from Moondog's "New Sound for an Old Instrument", Katherine Boyes survey of "Piano Portraits of the Seasons by Women Composers", performances & historical digging by Muzikas for their Bartok album, Backhaus performing Brahams, uncanny Midaeval rendition of Black Sabbath in Latin by Rondellus, and a hip tribute to Debussy by the Art of Noise.

July 22, 2002 (show 21): Christopher Delaurenti reprises the 1999 Seatlle WTO protest, plus Rod Poole and Speculum Fight (Damion Romero) from the good and late WIN Records of Los Angeles.

April 15th, 2002 (show 20): Classic environmental recordings. Peter Cusak returns with "Your Favourite London Sounds", featuring the people's choices. Then hours of the great outdoors- and a heartbeat- from the still-popular 70's & early 80's "Environments" and "Solitudes" series.

November 2, 2001 (show 19): Some 80's post-punk with the excellent "miniatures" compilation, fifty one-minute wonders. Larry Wendt & Nicolas Collins with dated and yet still relevant material from a 1986 cassette release. Bob Ostertag closes the 80's with "Sooner or Later". Then a little Y2k+1 action with the Halloweeny "Skull Mailbox" by Bob Drake.

August 27, 2001: Elevator- ahem, Lounge music. Relax with Les Baxter, Martin Denny, Yma Sumac, Arthur Lyman, and Esquivel. Plus a genuine Muzak LP for comparison!

August 20, 2001: Bringing it all back home with Peter Lang's take on American Classic. Acoustic 6 & 12 guitar, mostly. Accessable tunes. Some mandolin, early guitar synths here and there. Stay tuned for an interview with Lang between one and 3pm!
Also filled in for Mixed Up Class again, with I Fiagolini performing Monteverdi, and Plunderphonic's mixed-up classics.
