Kung Pao! was a radio show hosted by this guy named Nick. It aired on KZSU Stanford 90.1 FM from 1994 to 1999. Kung Pao! was committed to providing the curious, openminded listener with the latest indie rock and indie pop, including occasional forays into avant-jazz, electronic-based dance music, and noise (both experimental and gratuitous).

Kung Pao! defines "indie rock" as "whatever Nick likes that he doesn't regularly hear on MTV or any of the local alt-rock radio stations". This occasionally includes music released by major labels, or by independent labels with financial ties to major labels. While this may run counter to the exact semantics of the term "indie rock", Nick is too lazy to come up with a better term to use.
