Official site, containing not much more than a hint at a breakup. The Need is indeed dead? O, say it ain't so!

The Need factsheet at Kill Rock Stars - nice complete cross-reference of band members' other projects/guest stars (including Joe Preston of the Thrones! rad).
a note
The Need started out more rock than metal, but if you have any doubts that they ended their career (sniff sniff) as a metal band, their amazing Metallica cover on the Flying Side Kick Home Alive benefit comp should dispel em. Not to mention their rendition of "Green Manalishi," and "Dark Sally" off The Need is Dead. All hail, says I.
